Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Rava app collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We've written it in plain English because you deserve to understand what happens with your information.
In this policy, "Rava," "we," "us," and "our" refer to Jackson Davis, the operator of the Rava app. "You" refers to anyone who uses the app.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
Rava uses Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google. When you create an account, we receive your name and email address from the sign-in provider you choose, along with the date and time you agreed to our Terms. We never see or store a password for these sign-in methods.
Pet Profile Information
When you add a pet, we collect the details you enter: name, species, breed, age, weight, sex, spay/neuter status, known medical conditions, current medications, and any photo you add.
Health and Symptom Information
When you run a symptom assessment, we collect your written description of the symptoms, the behavioral observations and red-flag symptoms you select, any photos or camera frames you submit, and the AI-generated assessment results. We also store the health records you choose to log, such as weight history, vaccinations, vet visits, reminders, and tasks.
Photos
Photos you add — pet profile photos and any images submitted with an assessment — are uploaded to our storage provider. Assessment photos are also sent to our AI provider as described in Section 3. Please do not submit photos that contain sensitive personal information about people.
Device Permissions
With your permission, Rava uses your device's camera (to capture symptom photos), photo library (to add pet photos), and notifications (to send the reminders you set up). You can change these permissions at any time in your device settings.
Diagnostic Information
We collect basic, non-identifying information about app performance and errors so we can fix bugs and improve the app.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide the service — running your symptom assessments and returning guidance
- Maintain your account and sync your data across your devices
- Send the reminders and notifications you set up
- Improve the app and fix problems
- Contact you about your account if there is a security issue or an important update
We do not sell your personal information, use your pet's health data for advertising, or use your data to train AI models.
3. AI-Powered Assessments
Rava's symptom assessments are generated by Claude, an AI model from Anthropic. When you submit an assessment, the content of that request — your symptom description, the observations you select, and any photos — is sent through our secure backend to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic processes this data to generate the assessment and does not use data submitted through its API to train its models. Anthropic's own privacy policy governs its handling of that data.
4. Who We Share Information With
We share your information only with the service providers that make Rava work:
- Supabase — stores your account, pet profiles, health records, photos, and assessment history, and handles sign-in. Hosted on Amazon Web Services infrastructure.
- Anthropic — powers the AI assessment feature, as described in Section 3.
- Apple and Google — provide Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google. We receive only your name and email address from them.
- Expo — delivers the push notifications you choose to enable.
We do not share your information with anyone else without your consent, except where required by law. Rava is operated from the United States, and your information is processed and stored there.
5. Face ID and Biometrics
If you turn on App Lock, Rava asks your device to confirm your identity with Face ID or Touch ID. This check is performed entirely by your device's operating system. Rava never receives, sees, or stores your biometric data.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We keep your account and data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account from within the app at any time; doing so permanently removes your personal data, pet profiles, health records, and assessment history. We may retain limited information where we are required to by law.
7. Your Choices and Rights
You can view and edit your account and pet information directly in the app at any time, and you can delete your account and all associated data from within the app. If you would like a copy of your data, contact us. If you live in a jurisdiction with additional privacy rights — such as the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California — those rights may also apply; contact us with any request.
8. Security
We protect your data with encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data in transit, encrypted storage through our service providers, and access controls that limit who can reach production data. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access will never occur. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
9. Children's Privacy
Rava is intended for adults aged 18 and older. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the latest version.
